Norma Wilder Meyer

I began oil painting at nineteen, at arm’s length on large canvases, with one of “The Big Four” Northwest painters, Guy Anderson, at the University of Washington.  Learned plein-air painting house boats on Lake Washington.  Painted “Seattle at Nite” for modernist instructor Glen Alps.  Oil portraits and figures with Russell Frost and Rowena Alcorn.  Landscape with Rex Brandt, California watercolorist.  Painted oils from northwest rainforest cabin studio to San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico studio for twenty years.  On to Oaxaca, Guadalajara and San Miguel de Allende.  Also Venice and Florence, Italy. Washington landscapes and gardens and ponds.  I am still traveling my heart’s adventure through art in my home studio in Wauna, Washington.
