The diversity of animals that live in our Pacific Northwest environment is what inspires my art.  Whether it is color or feather patterns, the soft texture of fur on the side of a nose, the eyes or body structure that supports each animal, trying to replicate our Northwest wildlife gives me an even greater appreciation for the area that I live in.  My medium is colored pencils and I use reference photos in my attempt to simulate the unique individuality of every species. But the true art is in what each animal, plant or mineral portrays. I am only the fortunate observer, trying to recreate that beauty.
