Sculptures made with fused glass and vintage typewriter parts.

I've lived in Port Orchard since 1993. My career in graphic design allowed me to utilize my creative abilities. But my real creativity comes out in my sculptures. My work is inspired by nature with a heavy influence from steampunk and science fiction. It's fun when ideas just pop in. I love the combination of glass and metal -the fluidity of the glass contrasting the rigidness of metal.

I form the bodies from fused glass and add the typewriter parts that will help define the particular creature I'm making. I often sketch different views of the creature so I have a clear idea of how it's all going to come together. It allows me to first "build" it on paper. I have a lot of sketches that are waiting to be built.
