Janette Stiles
I am a visual artist living and working in Union, Washington from my home studio. I would sum up my artistic style as primarily realistic with some detours into intuitive art and whimsical inventions of my imagination. I work in several mediums in many genres. I paint in oils, acrylics, pastels and also enjoy drawing. I am self-taught in digital art. I paint animals, landscapes, florals, still-lifes and occasionally create a graphic design piece. My artwork is not only a pleasure, it is a necessity. It fills me with a sense of purpose and accomplishment. For me, it's all about telling a story and/or creating a scene, mood or feeling. My objective is to transport the viewer to a place where he or she experiences something new, uplifting and unique.
I have done over 1,200 paintings, drawings, digital art and mixed media pieces. I have won many awards and iit is satisfying to have my work acknowledged by judges. I have so much fun in being in art shows that I will continue to participate until I'm too old to do it!
I work in my studio everyday. It's a solitary business, so there is always lots to do. I appreciate all those who look at what I've done, and I'm humbled and thankful whenever someone compliments me or purchases my art. It makes the hard work worth it!
