Sharron King

King-Sharron.jpg

Sharron learned crocheting at the age of 10 from a family friend and was taught knitting at age 18 by her step-mother.  She still has the very first pull-over sweater that she knitted and can still wear it!  During this COVID crisis, Sharron has had a few extra hours to enjoy her life-long passion since the organizations she has supported, and been a member of for 31 years, have been inactive in events…the Fathoms O’ Fun Festival (serves as Chair) and Soroptimist International of Port Orchard.  Sharron moved to Port Orchard in 1988 and chaired the City’s 100th Birthday Celebration in 1989, as well as chaired the City’s 125th Anniversary.  She also served on the South Kitsap Helpline Board for 8 years and served on the SMAA Board a short while.  She is a committed volunteer who still finds time to do things she loves to do.
